Children will love sussex as the home of the Milnes family in Ashdown Forest East Sussex, England, was the basis for the setting of the Winnie-the-Pooh stories. The name of the fictional "Hundred Acre Wood" is reminiscent of the Five Hundred Acre Wood, which lies just outside Ashdown Forest and includes some of the locations mentioned in the book, such as the Enchanted Place.
Children will be able to play the "sport" of Poohsticks (competitors drop sticks into a stream from a bridge and then wait to see whose stick will cross the finish line first.)
The sailing enthusiasts should visit Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Selsey Bill and Chichester Harbour where various Yacht Charter companies run in the area.
A famous event that happens in Bognor Regis is the International Birdman Competition with contestants attempting to fly off from the 1,000 feet long Bognor Regis Pier!
Horse racing enthusiasts will want to visit the race courses of Fontwell or Goodwood.
