The Priory was founded in 1229 as an Augustinian order by Gilbert de I'Aigle,(his emblem is flown above the 14th century gatehouse).  The priory is surrounded by a moat and is situated in the Sussex countryside

Opening times: 14th March - 28th October (Wed-Sun & daily in August) Open from 10.30am every day - 4pm (March & Oct) 5pm (Arpril-July & September) 5.30pm (August)
