Tourist Guide for Argos Hill East Sussex - History
Argos Hill Mill
A mill was built in 1835 at Argos and was used until 1929.
This mill was almost demolished during the First World War when it was considered too good a landmark for German Zepplins.
The mill was painted with a red cap to aid pilots during World War 2.
The majority of the machinery remains and it is now owned by Wealden District Council, and stands on private land.
